RESTORATION SERVICES
We are widely known as one of the few establishments in Canada who is trusted by galleries, churches, artists, and collectors to restore priceless works of art and photography. Anyone familiar with fine art restoration can tell you that this is a very delicate and risky process where one slip can ruin a piece of art.
Our Specialties
Cleaning and VarnishingOur meticulous cleaning procedure includes mold and mildew removal and reversing the effects of moisture and smoke.
The varnish removal process incorporates extensive testing to identify the specific varnish and paint layers and fix the problem of discolored or yellowing varnish. We perform consolidation, adhesion, and flattening of flaking, crazing or delicate paint. |
Patching and FlatteningOur patching and flattening will help to restore the artwork to its former glory. We excel at texturing and retouching areas of lost, chipped, scratched or worn away paint. The patching of holes, tears, cuts or punctures is done in such a way that makes it difficult to notice any patchwork was done at all.

Our teams brainstorm on each case and draw up a plan on how to safely remove the work from its frame without damaging it and fix all other issues, using brand new, collector-quality mats and frames and re-stretch it in a way that maintains the integrity of the art, adds to its value, and preserves it for hundreds of years to come.

sample #1 of our Restoration PROCESS
- Art work in the original state ( before removing the old varnish, restoring and revarnishing)
- Art work after the process of Cleaning, Restoration, re-varnishing and framing
Step3 ( Lining the new layer on canvas)
Add the new layer of canvas and restricting it. The old canvas has been ripped from 3 points. We decided to add a new layer of canvas behind it to make it stronger, using Belgium linen and special conservation and natural glue. - After this process we stretched the canvas on the new stretcher bar. |
Step4 Deep cleaning The artwork has been exposed to dust and smoke during its lifetime. It is essential to clean these discoloured painting before we start to fill the missing part and paint them. Step5 Filling the holes and repainting the missing parts. Step6 Coating We put the new layer of removable and conservation grade mat varnish on top of the painting to prevent any more damage in the future without changing the painting's finishing look. One of our expert consultants will collaborate with you to find the perfect solutions for its restoration.

We will come to your location to investigate and appraise the job. If we feel the piece is sensitive, we may send our professional delivery people to pick it up or, in some cases, our licensed experts may perform the repairs at your place. |
HOW IT WORKS
